Ondo: Akeredolu Sworn In, Promises To Make A Difference

The newly sworn-in governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu has expressed his administration’s determination to make a difference with the specific mandate of redemption liberally handed over to him by the people of the state.

Akeredolu and his deputy, Hon. Alfred Agboola Ajayi took the oath of office at about 12:05pm yesterday , administered by the acting chief judge of the state, Justice Temitayo Osoba amidst jubilation and admiration from a large crowd of supporters who trooped to the Akure Stadium to witness the occasion.
Dignitaries at the event include: governor of Sokoto state, Rt. Hon.  Aminu Tambuwal;  senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki; APC national chairman,
Chief John Odigie Oyegun; Kogi state governor,  Alhaji Yahya Bello; Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki; Niger state governor, Abubakar Dani Bello; APC National Leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Chief Bisi Akande and Ekiti state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.
Also at the event were: the deputy speaker of the house of representatives, Rt Hon. Lasun Yusuf; minister of information and culture, Alhaji LaI Mohammed; Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti; minister of labour and productivity, Senator Chris Ngige; Senator Joshua Dariye, Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi among st others.
In his inaugural speech, Akeredolu said his administration will take the state out  of hopelessness and desperation, saying the welfare of the people shall be the fundamental objective and directive principle of governance in the state.
The new governor said his administration will adopt a collaborative approach to get his programs done by ensuring that the government engages with the other segments of the public sector, as well as the private sector in developing and implementing his ideas of transforming the economy of the state within the shortest possible time.
