Husband ties wife to bed, smashes her ankles with hammer

London – A distraught woman in London has narrated her ordeal after she suffered 18 years of torture, which saw her husband tying her to a bed and smashing her feet and ankles with a hammer. 
According to Mirror, the 35-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, but hoped her story would help other women in abusive relationships, said she was repeatedly attacked, raped and belittled by her husband.
She, however, was finally freed from the "monster" after she managed to contact the police, leading to his arrest.
The woman said she met her husband in 1995 when she was 16 and during that time he was loving and caring.

Things changed when he started using drugs, which turned him into being violent.   
She was banned from choosing her own clothes and using a cashpoint as she was isolated from her friends and family, and forced to live as a prisoner in her own home, the report said.....News24
